Overview
Numerical simulation of lattice field theory in a Hamiltonian formalism is useful for investigating real time dynamics, models with a topological term, and so on. However, computational resources (in naive implementations) scale exponentially with a system size. One way to avoid this problem is to use quantum algorithms.
Research
We look into interesting and tractable problems, and quantum algorithms for efficiently implementing them, in order to clarify in what situations we have quantum algorithms that scale better than classical algorithms. Especially for NISQ algorithms, we further investigate effects from quantum noises, as well as the methodology to mitigate the noise effects and protect physical symmetry against them.
