Oral and poster presentations at the international workshop “19th Patras Workshop on Axions, WIMPs and WISPs” (9/15-9/20)

The 19th Patras Workshop on Axions, WIMPs and WISPs is an international conference attended by many researchers specializing in dark matter search experiments such as axions, WIMPs and WISPs. This year's workshop was held at the University of Patras in Greece, which was the venue of the first meeting and the name of the workshop.

Four members of the Quantum Hardware Group of the Center participated in the workshop. Kan Nakazono (grad student) gave an oral presentation, and Karin Watanabe (grad student), Tatsumi Nitta (Project Assistant Professor), and Shion Chen (Visiting Collaborative Researcher, affiliated with Kyoto University, co-authored with Assistant Professor Yutaro Iiyama) gave poster presentations. The participants had a chance to interact with researchers from other research groups.

Title and presenter:

  • Kan Nakazono: "First results from a cavity haloscope experiment with a novel frequency tuning system using a qubit"
  • Karin Watanabe: "Search for dark photons around 34.4 μeV using direct excitations of superconducting qubits"
  • Tatsumi Nitta: "Towards axion searches using superconducting qubits"
  • Shion Chen, Yutaro Iyama: "Search for dark photon dark matter using large-scale superconducting quantum computers as detectors"
